Sustainability & Environment

Sustainability is very close to our hearts. Sannäs Manor has a long history and has been an important stronghold for the local community. Furthermore, the estate is a valuable cultural landscape. We feel that it is our duty to take responsibility for our environment and protect and uphold it for coming generations. This means concrete actions and our goal is to develop our operations continuously and consistently towards a more environmentally friendly direction.

The main themes we work on are: Environment, people & community, culture & history and food.

Environment

Sannäs Manor has been awarded a Green Key certificate to demonstrate responsible and environmentally friendly business actions. Green Key is an international accommodation certificate, which promotes developing of sustainable tourism in more than 65 countries. Companies with the certificate must meet strict quality criteria, e.g. by reducing environmental pressures such as water and energy consumption, increasing staff and guest environmental awareness, recycling and encouraging towards ecological transport modes.

Examples of our environmental work:
Recycling – We are sorting waste in all our departments. We sort biowaste, paper, cardboard, glass, metal and bottle and cans.
Improving energy efficiency – Approximately 95 % of our light sources are changed into led-lights.
Reducing food waste – We are continuously trying to reduce food waste. On buffets we use smaller servings and refill according to need. At the conference lunches we have moved from buffet to serving the starters to the table.

We are happy to you more about our environmental work!
